The European Business Awards recognises excellence, innovation, and best practice in Europe, and LEO Innovation Lab has been named national winner for Denmark in The Customer and Market Engagement Award. The nomination recognises our work in healthtech, and our achievements in making personalised, state of the art care available to anyone with a smartphone.
Since 2007, The European Business Awards have honoured the strongest innovators and most ethical entrepreneurs of European business – not only for their success but for their role in tackling the most pressing global challenges. This year, LEO Innovation Lab has been recognised for our role in addressing the mounting pressure on health systems worldwide.
Solving global healthcare challenges with technology
At LEO Innovation Lab, we believe in a future where access to high quality and effective healthcare is available to all who need it. To help make this a reality, we have formed partnerships across the USA, Europe, and China to make significant impact for healthcare on a global scale with digital technology.
1 in 4 people will develop a skin disease over the course of their lives but a high misdiagnosis rate, long waiting times, inadequate treatments, and low dermatologist to patient ratios are prevailing drivers for low health outcomes.
To help these patients, we are building platforms that combine skin tracking, progression monitoring, and AI-powered skin diagnosis to make access to clinical support available through a smartphone. Our goal is to create visibility for both patients and doctors on the development of skin diseases and efficacy of treatments, and to help patients be in control of their disease. Furthermore, our AI-powered solutions have the potential to augment doctors in their decisions to improve diagnostic accuracy. This will help patients get the optimal treatment plan faster than ever before, and free up time for doctors to have a more effective, meaningful interaction with their patients.
“LEO Innovation Lab was established in 2015 to drive a positive impact in the lives of patients, beyond just treating their physiological symptoms. This award is an accolade for the difference we have made to thousands of people so far, and for the potential our projects have to help many more,” said Kristian Hart-Hansen, CEO at LEO Innovation Lab.
